Why I Started Vampire Nurse on Wheels

Updated: Jul 13

If you've found your way to my website, chances are you're wondering two things:

Who is this "Vampire Nurse"... and why is she on wheels?

Fair questions!

My name is Nicole Morgan, and I'm a Registered Nurse who has spent over a decade caring for people in hospitals, clinics, and throughout the community. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life, and one thing has become incredibly clear: healthcare isn't always easy to access.

Not everyone can take time off work for an appointment. Some people don't drive. Others have mobility challenges, young children at home, or simply feel overwhelmed navigating the healthcare system. Even something as routine as getting bloodwork can become a stressful and time-consuming task.

I started Vampire Nurse on Wheels because I wanted to help remove those barriers.

Healthcare Should Meet People Where They Are

One of the things I loved most about working in outreach nursing was meeting clients where they were—literally.

Instead of expecting people to come to us, we went to them. That simple change often made healthcare more accessible, less stressful, and more personal.

I wanted to build a business around that same philosophy.

Whether it's collecting bloodwork in the comfort of your home, administering an injection, providing a wellness visit, or supporting you with future RN prescribing services, my goal is simple:

To bring professional, compassionate nursing care directly to you.

So... Why "Vampire Nurse"?

I'll admit it—the name usually gets a laugh.

The truth is, I've always joked that I'm a bit of a vampire when it comes to finding veins. Throughout my nursing career, I've become known for being able to collect blood from people who have difficult veins, and I genuinely enjoy the challenge.

After hearing friends, family, coworkers, and even patients jokingly call me "the vampire nurse," the name just stuck.

It felt memorable, a little fun, and perfectly reflected one of the services I enjoy providing most.

Because let's face it—if someone has to take your blood, they might as well have a sense of humour.

More Than Bloodwork

While blood collection is one of the services I offer, Vampire Nurse on Wheels is about much more than that.

My vision is to make healthcare more convenient, more accessible, and more client-centred.

As nursing continues to evolve in Ontario, so does my practice. I'm committed to continuing my education so I can offer additional services within my scope, helping clients receive timely, evidence-informed care without unnecessary delays.

Healthcare is changing, and I'm excited to be part of that change.

Starting a business is both exciting and a little intimidating, but it's something I've dreamed about for a long time.

Your support means more than you know.

I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and providing care that's professional, compassionate, and centred around your needs.
